H. Patrick Swygert
Description H. PATRICK SWYGERT served as President of Howard University from 1995 to 2008. Mr. Swygert served as President of the University at Albany, State University of New York from 1990 to 1995, and as Executive Vice President of Temple University from 1987 to 1990. He also serves on the board of The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. Mr. Swygert served as a director of Fannie Mae from 2000 to 2008. Mr. Swygert is a member of the Central Intelligence Agency?s External Advisory Board, the Advisory Council for the Smithsonian Institution?s National Museum of African American History and Culture, the D.C. Emancipation Commemoration Commission, the U.S. National Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Commission on Presidential Debates and the Eisenhower Fellowship Foundation. He is also Chairman of an Advisory Team for Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and a Distinguished Adjunct Lecturer, Institute for National Strategic Studies, National Defense University, Department of Defense.
