Description H. Garfield Emerson is Principal, Emerson Advisory, an independent business and financial advisory firm, and a corporate Director. He is a Director of Canadian Tire Corporation Limited, Sentry Select Capital Corp. and is Executive in Residence, Faculty of Public Affairs, Carleton University. Mr. Emerson is the past National Chair of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP (2001-2006) and was previously President and Chief Executive Officer of NM Rothschild & Sons Canada Limited (1990-2001), investment bankers, non-executive Chairman of the Board of Rogers Communications Inc. (1993-2006), Chairman of First Calgary Petroleums Ltd. (2008), and a senior partner of Davies, Ward & Beck. He has also served as a Director of Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, University of Toronto Asset Management Corporation, NM Rothschild & Sons Limited, Marathon Realty Company Limited, Genstar Capital Corporation, and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
